GC Rieber Compact AS is a leading Norwegian company within the maritime and humanitarian field producing unique food products for malnutrition, preparedness, and maritime survival. They became interested in working with IBP because Ethiopia is one of their biggest markets within humanitarian products. They produce nutritional products for malnourished children, and the need for these types of products is very high in Ethiopia. For today's products, they would like to have a distributor/partner in Ethiopia. Today GC Rieber Compact only sells via Unicef, Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross. Production in Ethiopia is not possible because accessing raw materials is extremely difficult. For future products, they are considering some possibilities in the 'consumer market'. GC Rieber Compact is currently participating in a project with Gain, DanChurchAid, and others; The Sustainable Food Platform. This partnership aims to rethink market-based solutions for food and nutrition security in Africa.
